Jan,
I, too, was quit for over two years when I picked up one and said I could handle just one...that was over 5 years ago...and that one turned into another a pack a day habit! Argh! All that hard work and how proud I was of myself and threw it all away!!! Quitting was the hardest thing I ever did in my life and it was also the proudest moment of my life.
One puff should not even be a thought!
Thanks for reminding me of where I was five years ago and where I want to go on the 1st of May.
Vick

If you are having that nagging urge.. just one cigarette won't hurt, think about this....
Well into a 2yr quit, I had that thought, went out drinking, and thought only 1 won't hurt..1 turned into 2 and quickly into 10 and quickly into here I am 2 yrs later begging for help.
So yes the road is well travelled and my advice is heed the warning of everyone around you, this is NOT going to be easy, but if we look deep within ourselves we will find the resolve to do this. ( if only I can listen to myself)
I choose for this moment to be a quitter. I can choose what I want to do, and I can ensure that my choices are good ones. While I cannot predict the future, I can predict that my choice right now for me is to not smoke.
I will not fall victim to my own junkie thinking again...at least not right now.
Hugs :)
Jan
