Hey JuJu, at least you're eating somewhat healthy food. I mean all the fruit and bread and pasta, that's a lot of carbonhydrats. As long as you don't overdo yourself, and start eating too much junk food, I woulnd't worry too much. And if you're worried about snacking too much in-between meals, just keep yourself otherwise busy, that's healping me at least. The first few days of my quit, I didn't know heaven from earth or what to do with myself, so I did what I do best, I draw. You can litterally spend hours and hours doing that, and while you're doing that, you wont think about smoking or eating for that matter hehe :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 249 Amount Saved: $32 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 12 Mins: 17 Seconds: 24

I know how you feel! I decided to get through 3 weeks of the quit and then start caring about how much dang food I was stuffing down my pie hole. And now I can barely fit into any of my FAT clothes! This has to stop! So I have to commit to be accountable for something else!? Oh Geeez is right. Okay okay, I'll add to these food threads and also get to exercising and stop using this sore throat as an excuse to sit around and baby myself. Oh the stories I can tell myself ;) Thanks for your stories!! smilingspiders My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 140 Amount Saved: $33.32 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 7 Mins: 12 Seconds: 59

Reading what everyone has been eating makes me look (and feel) like a pig!! Yesterday's menu: b-yogurt, 9 fig newtons, 2 frosted strawberry poptarts, fresh pineapple and honeydew melon (about a cup and a half)and coffee. l-oatmeal cereal bar, peanut butter sandwich, chips, orange, 3 pieces dove dark chocolate, and water d-spagetti with meatballs, garlic bread, water. s- 2 cups leftover pasta noodles. NO EXCERSIZE. UGGGGGGGG! The food tastes sooooo good. I'm a pig!! Well...at least i'm still smoke free.....hehehe. I will try to do better at my eating and excersize. I just have to put my 2 cents worth in. I too am making a big pig of myself. I did very well yesterday until it was late and my husband still wasn't home from work(Again) and I had dinner alone in front of the tv(Again) so....after dinner I made myself a big bowl of popcorn with a whole stick of melted butter on it-ate the whole damn thing, then since that apparently wasn't enough I finished off the bag of Hershey's milk chocolate chips. I've joined sparkpeople and picked up a couple of books about the GI Index(thank you Riverdale), now if only I would get serious and follow some of the good advise I'm learning :confuse:..... ROTFLMHO!!!!!!! With a case of mayonnaise, please!!!! PS - When I first quit - about the first two weeks, I couldn't eat enough "Little Smokies" - the cheddar-stuffed ones! (little sausages from Hillshire Farms)I had them for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. Cigarettes Not Smoked

JUJU, Almost all smokers notice this. You may tend to eat more than you used to. Your body's absorption of food is improved as well, so you will gain more nourishment even if you don't eat more. How long will this last? The first few weeks after quitting. Tips to help: Try low calorie snacks or beverages. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Keep strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
