I think I need Help!

Struggling, Let me tell you from experience that relapsing is NOT fun! Why do you think that so many of us who have had "slips" or relapses are BACK quitting again?!?! It's because we don't LIKE smoking and it sucks to slip or relapse!!! Like the saying, "A smart man learns from his own mistakes but a wise man learns from the mistakes of others." I am one of those who has slipped who can testify that it's MUCH better to stay quit. It might not always be fun and it might not always be easy... but it's ALWAYS better than the alternative! Crave the Quit! Hi, Struggling. Sorry I didn't see this way earlier. I smoked a pack a day for about 39 years. This is my first real quit. I haven't relapsed, I haven't had even one puff since 10:20 PM, Sunday, May 22, 2005. So everyone doesn't relapse or slip. Keep that thought. Just because others are slipping and sliding doesn't mean you have to. I know that reading about it triggers a "I wish I could" sequence, but that's just that opportunistic, self-centered junkie trying to undo the work you've done. Don't let him! Call him the liar he is, shout it if you have to. Fight the b*@t*rd. You will win. Hi struggling. My heart goes out to you being in hell week. It was AWFUL!! But how many times do you want to have that awful week? I never relapsed. Part of what kept me going was the thought of ever ever having to go through hell week again. Once a lifetime of losing my sanity and sobbing in bed for a week is enough for me! Nor would I go through the rest of withdrawal again for anything. It is awful right now, I know. But it is totally worth it. The freedom is delicious. You can do this....and the easiest way is to do it once and for all. Make smoking NEVER an option no matter what life throws your way. The nicodemon will raise his ugly head from time to time, but remember your power. You are smarter and stronger than him. KICK HIS ASH! Struggling, Welcome to our support community and please take a look around. Preparation can make a difference in your quit. Our online support group is wonderful and can really assist you. You need to take it step by step. A slip is ok, just don't get worked up to have one. Avoid situations that will tempt you and distract yourself from those big craves and use whatever is necessary. We are always here to help and know that 4 days is a great start and it will get better. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
