I am bummed because some people from work here are going out tonight for happy hour...I am not going. I know that i just cannot handle it right now. I know i am making the right decision for myself but I still feel like I will miss all the fun =(
Just wanted to vent a little - thanks for listening -

pit- now that you don't smoke you will have years of going out that you won't have had if you continued to smoke...I'd say somewhere around 20 yrs. Now that's a lot of partyin!
Pitstop - How about making a pit stop in here when it's beer-thirty (Happy Hour) and share with US what the High Point of your week has been???? We are a fun group and better than the work folks, cuz we're smoke free!!!

Pitstop -
I think you are doing the right thing in not going out
with your friends right now...it won't be long before you
feel strong enough to go. I went to a girls weekend out
for Easter and they all smoked - it was so stinky and not
a temptation at all but I was a little further along in my
quit. You know that the second hand smoke at bars are just
as bad if not worse than smoking yourself so count your
blessings that you are not going. Maybe next week plan a
happy hour at a place that is smoke free - the bowling alley
near my town is smoke free - maybe somewhere like that. You
can take charge and plan something else.

Pitstop,
You're not denying yourself anything... you've made a very wise choice to improve the quality of your life. Soon, you will be strong enough to be with smokers... but right now, you're probably making the right choice to not go. Just think how much healthier you will be because you have quit smoking! Think about how much more money you will have to spend when you DO go out because you're not wasting YOUR money on cigarettes! Hold your head high! You're doing an awesome thing for yourself and should be proud!
Crave the Quit!
