Could it really be THIS EASY?

My first four days were pretty horrid and then, all of a sudden, I feel fine!! I mean, I have small cravings for a cigarette every now and then, but it only lasts a short while. I take some deep breaths, or go outside an inhale the fresh air and it goes away. There will be times during the day when the thought of smoking crosses my mind, but only for a minute. At work yesterday, I started to have a craving and then remembered that I had my lozenges with me. I had actually FORGOT, seriously FORGOT, to take one! When I looked at my log for how long it had been since I had one, it was THREE HOURS! I was chewing on straws ALL the time my first couple of days, but I haven't needed to in a while. I didn't think it was going to be this simple!!! I'm just a little shocked! I really LOVE LOVE LOVE being a non-smoker!! CONGRATULATIONS CemetarySiren !!! ONE WEEK DOWN !!!! I am glad to hear that you are having an easier quit than you expected. You are obviously starting to give this damn addiction less attention and that is when things start to become easier. You went 3 hrs without the gum.. try extending that time and you will become even less dependent on it. Maybe replace the gum with some hard candy or something.. a little at a time. This will wean you off the gum.. These cravings will reoccur so be ready everytime !! Your positive attitude will mean more to you now than ever !!! You have saved a few bucks.. and have made it to the one week mark.. You deserve a reward.. go shopping or go grab some lunch !!! Pamper yourself some.. you are doing great !!! Hang Tuff !! Hi C.S., I am 44 days quit, and I pretty much feel the same way you feel. I thought quitting was going to be a lot harder, but to my amazement it has been easier than expected. That is not to say that the nicodemon isn't lurking around and showing up at times, but I just hit him over the head with whatever is around. I don't know what it is this time around, but it's a lot easier. I am just getting a kick out of it, you know. Sometimes I feel like a little kid in a candy store when I smell my hair or my clothes. Silly I know. But I am like, "Damn do I smell good." ;p Anyway, fantastic to hear that you're doing this great.
