Down w/ smoking rooms!!

19 years ago 0 2257 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Ang, You're right, it's different being on the other side of the room as the smokers. But it's WAY BETTER. I was at an outside party this weekend and the smokers were still bothering me. I had to keep moving around to stay clear of the ODOR. I really don't want to smell like that after all I have worked for not to - it's one of my rewards, not reeking. You are almost to the beach, you will see all your smoke-free friends there. I laughed that you sprayed your perfume in rebellion, too bad they didn't get the message. My friends that do smoke try to stay clear of me & my husband, I'm sure they know we don't want it by us. But at parties, people just smoke away outside regardless of who is standing nearby. It's a free country right???? There's a discussion for another day - will leave that one for Golferman to ponder on. Take care Ang. So this weekend I spwent my weekend with all smokers. It was beyond annoying!! We went to this smoking room the whole time, since all of them except me smoked. It was torture. At first i wanted to smoke but after awhile i just got used to the smoke but ugh the smoke blowing my face was disgusting. Than we get into the car, everyone lights up, I am freezing in the backseat and sick from all the smoke. I continuosly sprayed perfume to demonstrate how it felt for me to be in a carful of smokers and how gross and unbearable it was. but they didnt stop. see if I was a smoker and only one person didnt smoke, id prolly do the same thing as them I guess, but they didnt have much consideration for someone that doesnt smoke, when I had enough concideration for them!! Than if we goto smoke free bars they spend the whole night outside smoking! It is still freezing outside so I have to stand outside doing nothing while they puff away. So i pretty much stayed inside by myself. I need new friends! Its so boring being with smokers because they want to light up every second!! Than I come home and my hair and clothes reek of smoke!!! I am still smoke free and proud but a little irritated by my smoker friends! Wow Ang! You're SO close to the beach!!!!!!!! I bet you're so proud of yourself for making it through that smoke free! Congratulations on dealing with a VERY tough situation and not smoking!!!! As for your friends, just remember that they are addicts and are still slaves to their addictions. Just be patient. It wouldn't hurt to expand your circle of friends a bit to include some non-smokers so you don't have to hang out with smokers all the time. I hope you can be successful with that. Congratulations on making it through smoke free! That's awesome! Crave the Quit!
