Hey Everyone! Its kind of dreary out today but its ok I guess. Better than snow! My friend called and she ight come over, she smokes alot. I dont know how I will react, I might now crave I might. But I already made it up in my mind that I wont smoke. But I dont want to have terrible craves when I dont have to. Its my 40th day smoke free so theres no way I am going to mess that up! Any suggestions etc? Ang...Tell her you quit. Have her take the smoking outside and you stay inside. Don't jepordize your quit. I still stay away from smokers. I'm not willing to take that chance. Congrats on your 40 days! Ang, Congratulations on 40 days! If there's going to be alcohol involved, make sure you don't drink too much. I know you're only 18, but I also know that doesn't mean anything. ;) So hopefully you're NOT drinking, but if you are, then don't drink too much because that could cause you to not think straight and do something that you will regret later. And the other thing... have fun! I'm sure you'll do fine! Crave the Quit! Lady & ladybugg have told you all you need to know. If you feel your quit is in danger, politely ask her to leave. You wouldn't be ending a friendship, just keeping a bit of space until you're secure enough in your quit to be around her. Stay strong, ang. You can do this. Get all you coping tools ready Ang. Have snacks and ice water available. Most importantly, before you even let your friend in the door....tell them NOT to give you a cig no matter how much you might beg! ;) and make sure they smoke outside! stay strong...you do not want to have to go thru all this again! Ang, Keep a mechanism by your side! Water, chew stick or gum will help keep you occupied and keep your craves at a distance. Hold strong and remember, try not to put your self into these situations and avoid temptation until you are ready. Hope this helps, Josie ______________________ The SSC Support Team.
