I just flew back from Montreal from attending Bubbin's funeral. She was my dear mother-in-law. It was a lovely affair, full of all sorts of nice humor and fond memories. But, she was a heavy heavy smoker and the end was long and drawn out, on oxygen, morphine, etc. - not pretty. Underneath everyone's reactions, was always the unspoken thought about her being a smoker. I felt glad that when I die, people can just grieve or celebrate but won't be talking about what a shame that I was still smoking. Sorta weird that I would care, but somehow that was always one of my reasons for quitting this nasty habit. Gosh I am glad to be freeeeeeeeeee!
