I just wanted to tell all of you about my brother. He became very ill the beginning of this year. He developed blood clots in his legs and when he kept getting sicker it was determined he had pneumonia. He was supposed to have a chest X-ray done but never did. He was a very heavy smoker, smoking 2-3 packs a day. By Feb. 20 he was extremely ill with a constant cough and vomiting. I forced him to go to the hospital and he was diagnosed with metastatic cancer of the lungs.I brought him home with the help of hospice on March 8 and he passed away on March 13. He was only 53 years old. The entire family is still in shock about this death as it came so fast. Dave was a big, burly healthy man and none of us ever suspected he had cancer. It was a terrible death. He was gasping for each breath. Next time you crave a cigarette, imagine someone lying on their deathbed, gasping for air with none to be had.
