Let's start a June club!

Hey june-bugs, we need to check in... is everyone still here and smoke free? I am proud to say that I have endured the fire, a fight with my teenage daughter, and I am still here. I have actually managed to change my attitude. I just told myself that smoking is not going to make it better. I don't enjoy fighting with her anymore when I'm smoking than when I'm not and it's really silly to think that smoking would help. Then I went and took my dog for a walk and let her stew in her own juices. Then after I had a chance to think, I figured it out. She is trying to get me to start smoking again so she doesn't have to smoke outside anymore. I am so proud of myself that I could bust. How is everybody from june doing so far? This is great. You picked a great name and it is early in the month Stoppin' Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... I was hoping we could start a support group for all of us that are quiting in the month of June....we could be the "June-Bugs" famous for squashing the addiction like the bug it is! Or any other funny lil' catch phrases we can come up with. Our attitudes are going to great...we will be as fresh as can be!

Thanks to all the quitting pioneers for your words of encouragement! How are you doing today Mama? And Healthier Me...how is the rollercoaster? My quit date is the 11th however, I am just not smoking today...it seems like a good idea to make it my choice not to smoke right now. I am practicing like the workbook says. What are you guys doing to help with this attack on the bug? I know we are going to get lots of encouragement from our pioneer friends who have forged through this before us so lets listen up and do all the things they advise. I think that I learned from them that attitude is so important. I am practicing closing my eyes, breathing in real slow and deep, and picturing the sunrise on the beach. My mantra is going to be "go away" just simply saying those words to my own demon..."go away" Check in now you two....any new June Bugs or folks that know how to do this, that want to join in our crusade to destroy and squash this addiction like the bug it is!!!!!

Great job June Bugs! And if the going gets bumpy just remember that a craving is just a thought and YOU control your thoughts. What could be easier than changing the subject in your own mind?! You don't smoke. It's that simple. Don't let the Nico-monster convince you otherwise. Oh, and Don't smoke, okay? It's bad for you. Cold Turkeys love June Bugs!
