Hey ArwensMom !
What happened .. did you smoke just one.. are you still smoking ?
If you smoked one and hated it.. I say don't restart the meter.. just pick up that pack and burn it and then carry on..
What happened.. details.. let it all out..

ArwensMom..I really don't have an answer for your question about starting over. I do want to tell you that regardless of whether you have to start over or not it is worth it.
Quitting is very difficult but you cannot give up. This is your life that you are fighting for and it is worth it. I know it doesn't seem like it now. But I promise you the freedom is worth every second of misery you are going through.
The hardest part of the quit for me was the mental aspect and the depression. There were a lot of times I wanted to throw in the towell. Don't give up. ((((HUGS)))) We are here for you.

The 15 days wasn't a waste. You know it was just a slip, a lapse. If you come in every day saying "Whoops I slipped again" then maybe you should re set your meter. don't look at it as a failure look at it as a test you just passed. You had one and came back here.
Stay quit now.

Hi, ArwensMom. I just bumped a great thread started by Lady called "Reset the meter?" in this forum. It covers the question you asked in the Introduce Yourself forum.
I doubt that one cig will put you back into hell week again. You may experience some slight withdrawal, but from what it seems you're going through anyway, I doubt you'd notice it.

Arwensmom,
To answer your question, since you've reintroduced nicotine into your body, yes, you may experience the intial withdrawals again but... now that you know how you react to being smoke free... please learn from your slip and be better prepared. You also know how it feels to have slipped too... I know you don't want to repeat that. Did you speak with your doctor?
As for your meter, in my book, it's just a self motivational tool so resetting is a personal decision based on what you feel in your own heart.

Arwen,
What kind of slip? The choice is up to you and you need to be honest with yourself. From past posts and members thoughts...
If you had a few puffs and let it go, then the thoughts are to continue on. If you continued smoking and started up again, then it is best to reset your meter and start again.
Let us know,
Josie
