Meg, Stay strong, make good use of your coping mechanisms. You've made a wonderful decision to quit smoking. Don't give up. Take Care, Melanie _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Hey Meg, Sorry to hear you had a bad weekend. Do what you gotta do girl. Scream, yell, break sh#t, whatever works, and whatever gets you through. Nothing like breaking something when your angry. Your'e doing it, and thats all that matters. 16 days is great. It only gets better. Hang tough> dalooosh

Thank you! Saturday I stepped on a candle holder, threw it against a wall and broke it, did some screaming, and felt much better. My BF was actually proud of me because he'd never seen me do anything like that in the year we've been together. I am lucky to have supportive people in my real and virtual life! I'm betting the road rage will be the last to go away... Thanks thanks thanks again! I feel so put upon burdened cheated whatever. SO ridiculous because I know I am making the right choice for myself, but it doesn't feel that way. booo My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 109 Amount Saved: $39 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 28 Seconds: 3

I still have thoughts like that from time to time and it seems to send me into a slum of sadness afterwards...all you can do is wait it out!! I am here for you as well as everyone else is...post often if it helps or just go to sleep, read a book, or just read to keep yourself occupied and cry, scream, run circles around your house, etc..just don't smoke.....it always seems to work that way, there is a list of things we can have and one cannot have and you always want the one your not supposed to have!! Go Figure! Remember: No Smoke, No Choke, No Croak!! :) The Chicken My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 26 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 269 Amount Saved: $97.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 19 Mins: 27 Seconds: 42

Meg, I'm not sure what is going on with you right now but judging by your quit meter (13 days) and remembering that day 14 was the absolute worse day of my entire quit, I can just imagine. Take some deep breaths. Really deep breaths. I remember on day 14 being ready to quit my job, tell everyone where to go and wanting to go have just One smoke. Just one. Don't do it. I came here and posted instead. Your body, your emotions and your mind are all going through several things at the same time right now. Quitting is hard but know that these feelings are associated with your quit. It takes a while to adjust to NOT smoking but it is worth every second of agony you are going through right now. You can be mad, angry, kick, scream, cry, punch a pillow, whatever it takes...just don't smoke. And if none of that works, you still don't smoke. Keep telling yourself how good you are doing because you really are. You have been smoke free for 13 days and that is some tough stuff to do. You should reward yourself for such an accomplishment. N.O.P.E. is how we all quit and the only way to succeed. Not One Puff Ever. Take it one step at a time. I really hope this helps you. Hi, MegRS. Someone here once suggested going to a yard sale or thrift store and picking up some cheap dishes (not plastic). Then cut the bottom out of a large box, go out to your garage or driveway (hard surface) and smash the dishes on the ground in the box. Gets your anger and frustration out in a gloriously destructive way and the box contains the shattered pieces to make clean up easier. Hang in there you can do this. Maybe its time for a nice reward for yourself to remind you how special you are. Be kind to yourself I know its not easy but it is worth it!!! Give yourself some TLC a nice soak in the tub or a movie or a walk anything to brighten your day and make you realize why you quit and how wonderful it is!!!
