I started feeling a flood of emotions about a week ago ... when they all come rushing at you at once ... I would say that is anxiety. Exercise really and truly makes it go away or managable to then deal with.
I was flippin' out basically. I called my Dad. He said to run. I didn't want to run. I should have run ... he was right ... as usual. ;)

Yep, walking works wonders. The other day my hubby was irritating me, so my 2 year old and I went for a walk around the block ... it was wonderful. I look forward to getting irritated now.... bring it on... I am going to be in really great shape ... LOL!

Hi everyone.
I'm a newbie to this site. I have over the last 2 weeks began to feel anxiety and I can honestly say I dont feel like smoking but have no idea whats causing my anxiety? obviously something to do with my quit though. I'm not stressing about much, I just find I cant handle noise, or my extremely busy job at the moment. I have begun to eat just about non-stop and that in itself is freaking me out. I do not want to start packing on weight.
I have just realised the connection of eating taking away the anxiety. I have only just the last few days turned into the snappy ***** from hell. I have just read the thread on the 30 day pit so I guess I'm there.
I would apprectiate any tips and really just wanted to get on and write as I think it helps me relax.

thanx everyone for your wise advice - today I am feeling much better. Had a very ordinary sleep last night but got up today and had a really good time. Went to the Mind, body, spirit festival (Melbourne, Australia) and walked out feeling like I'd had a Valium!
Dont know what came over me but I think walking around all day helped get rid of it - exerise, even if its only walking does seem to clear the senses.
Good news is I still dont feel like smoking, just need to keep the anxiety at bay and it'll be fine. I'll just keep trying different tactics until something works for me.
Meanwhile thank you all again. This site rocks! I hope to be able to help the other newbies out in any way I can shortly.

Exercise Exercise Exercise - I found at that point my body sudden;y had so much more energy that I didn't know what to do with it so I....
Worked in the yard all day, I bought a dozen chickens, I built them a place to live, I chased them all over hell and back, I got weights and started lifting again, I walked all over town and the neighborhood, I cleaned every damn room in the house......
And after breakfast......
It gets better - really it does. Try not to worry about any weight gain. It'll be temporary for sure.
Hang in there and get moving!!!!

doodle,
This could be a symptom and may pass. Try eating low calorie foods and veggies if you are hungry in between meals. Smoking has a habit of masking problems, so when you quit they become noticeable.
Take the time to check with your doctor to rule out anything medical.
Keep Strong,
Josie
