Hi oodlechick, Positive attitude, positive attitude, positive attitude. I can't express it enough. The Nicodemon wants you back. He can feel you breaking away. You can kick his butt. You really can do this! Do not let him fool you. Be strong. Be prepared with things to say back to Nicodemon in your head, have something planned to keep you busy, relax if you need to ... concentrating on tensing and then relaxing your muscles, inhale deeply and then exhale fully ... then repeat, get on here and read & post, chew gum, drink lots of water through a straw. You can do this oodlechick ... hang in there ... protect your quit. You are doing so good! Ahh ... you are in sales ... you know the positive attitude & determination it takes to be in sales ... apply that to your Quit. You can do this. Just keep talking back to the mental cravings ... tell them to go away. Tell them you are a non-smoker. Pop some gum in your mouth. Drink lots of water. Get busy doing something to occupy your mind. Keep on fighting for your quit ... you can do this. It gets easier as time goes on. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there. We are all fighting for our lives. oodlechick, To help get you through the work week, try giving yourself a reward at the end of each day to make the agony and cravings worth going through. Carry gum and candy to keep your mouth busy and hopefully work will be busy enough to distract your mind. Hope this helps, Danielle __________________________ The SSC Support Team

Stay totally focused, never forget your quit- I took my eyes off my quit and the junkie grabbed his chance and smacked me one. I have fought the junkie all weekend and thank god I came out on top and have had more smoke free days behind me. take care, be strong and fight with all your might Joanne My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 692 Amount Saved: 135 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 10 Mins: 35 Seconds: 51

Hi oodlechick & Congrats on your 2nd week--you are doing awesome!!! What would get me through the day of work was to take a break in the afternoon and where did I take my break? Down at the local Starbucks for a latte! that was my work-reward treat. The fancy coffees really helped me at work because it wasn't free and it certainly was a perk in the afternoon when I would start craving badly around 3pm. So perhaps something that would get you OUT of the workplace for a while would get your mind off the craving--putting in a little power walk or just enjoying the outdoors and do some deep breathing. Fill your lungs with that gorgeous fresh air you have now! You will come up with things you enjoy and work them into your day. We all do it and it becomes like second nature doing it after awhile! Keep us posted, sounds like you are off to the start of an amazing quit! Many Blessings, Eve :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 423 Amount Saved: $156 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 10 Mins: 42 Seconds: 4

Hey Oodle, Everyone is different. The best thing to do is prepare for cravings, it seems to give them less impact when they hit. Stay strong and tough, you can do this. Nothing is as bad as the first week! Just keep telling yourself "We're not Smoking Today"! One day at a time -- You're doing great.
