Brent I know you can do it. Just remember all of the really smart intellegent things you tell us. You are very often the voice of reason- I have learned that in a very quick time. Just practice what you preach and you will be just fine :p I have read many of your posts and am very impressed by your thoughts and writings :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 194 Amount Saved: $45 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 21 Mins: 4 Seconds: 8

Hey Brent...... I am off to New York this afternoon for a few days, and I'll have a parallel experience with the triggers. Esp. that damn hotel room. Fortunately, the folks I am meeting with up there don't smoke. And they usually have us locked in a wee room the whole time, so no chance of messing up thru the day! Tell ya what - if you don't smoke, I won't. Is it a deal? :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/19/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 35 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 529 Amount Saved: $236.25 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 4 Mins: 32 Seconds: 34

Hi folks, back safe and sound! Grovekitty, it's a deal! and I kept my part of the bargain already! My treat was "Les Miserables" at the Queens Theatre on Shaftsbury Avenue in the West End.......it was a fabulous show, a real Cameron MacKentosh musical extravaganza! Must give things up more often! It cost me less than 4 days smoking! The change of routine worked perfectly and I did not have a problem. I even went into a pub for a pint before the show and watched the smokers. It is sad really because you can see them inhaling deeply to get the drug....no enjoyment....just necessity. I had no desire however to join them. Had a slight crave when I got back to the hotel after the theatre but knew that the hotel bar did not sell cigars (I'd checked before I went out to make sure that even if tempted.....no chance of being able to buy one), so confronted the crave and had a drink before bed. It soon passed and again I watched the smokers having to smoke. Felt really smug on the train back this afternoon as the plan had worked like a dream. There really is no need to struggle with this providing a little thought goes into it. I know that the first few days are difficult, but get over those folks and planning can take care of the following weeks. Hi guys and girls, won't be around for a couple of days as going to London (known here as the smoke! - a historical reference to smog and smoke before clean air acts etc)on business on the train in a moment. A couple of triggers to deal with, firstly the hotel bar tonight.....planning on avoiding it and seeing a show to reward myself instead, and secondly, waiting for the train....I've got a book to read. It's a matter of changing routines...and Aunty Sissy.....your roll-call this morning and the reminder of my half-way to the beach celibration on Friday, has boosted me and made me determined!!! I will not SMOKE in the SMOKE! Mad englishman. Brent & Groovekitty. Enjoy your trips. It will be so nice to take a trip as a non-smoker! It's great that you have a plan. Stick to the plan and keep that possitive attitude. There is nothing stopping you now from being smoke free. I have no doubt that you will be just fine. You guys are great quitters! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 206 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,127 Amount Saved: $721 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 4 Mins: 28 Seconds: 5

Brent, Have a good trip. I know that anxiety about traveling and wondering how bad the cravings will be... I just got back from a weekend trip to see some friends... I made it smoke free, but it was tough at times. Just keep a list of your reasons for quitting handy if you get in a difficult situation. Great prep work... I'm sure that will be of use to you when it gets hard. Have a good trip and let us all know how it goes. Crave the Quit!
