Ugh! DREAMS

19 years ago 0 126 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I was finally able to get some sleep and I had a dream that I was smoking. It was a nightmare. I knew that I would have to come here and face you all and I woke up in a cold sweat! After I went back to sleep, I dreamt again that I was buying cigarettes and smoking. I had to sneak around and hide. I felt embarassed and ashamed. I cannot believe what an impact this group has had. I was terrified of facing you all and telling you I had failed. I promise you, these dreams will not come true! I am determined not to smoke. T. Being around people that care and hold you accountable is a great thing. It works for everything we do in life imo. What a crazy cycle. On one hand it gives you more determination so they are actually a good thing. But how scary at the same time. That is the last thing an ex smoker wants is to relapse Stay Strong...your doing a great job!! Look the both of you...we know where you live so do not smoke again ever. A recent study by Duke University stated that the dreaming of smoking amongst us ex-smokers is actually a healing thing. It means that our brain is working and adjusting itself to us not smoking certain even as we sleep. Hence, the smoking dreams are a good sign that things are working. When I first had them, I would wake up and it was so damned vivid to me that it made me go yet another 24 hours with more resolve than before.
