READY TO QUIT...

19 years ago 0 8 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Ok I am ready to quit. I have my Dr's appt Monday June 19th to talk to her about quitting (FOR GOOD). I am excited about it but also a little nervous. I have not set a start date yet until after I have seen my Dr. I am thinking that I will do this in the beginning of the month of July or towards the end of this month. Any helpful suggestions would be very much appreciated. I have been working through the workbook to prepare me to quit smoking and it helps. Besides my support on here, I have a great support team (for at home and at work) in place that will help me get through this with lots of encouragement . I have talked with the kids about it and they are excited too. They want to help me to quit too so they will be a great encouragement at home. We also discussed the times when I am having a down day so that they know that if I am in a bad mood, it doesn't have anything to do with them it is because of the withdrawl symptoms and what they can do to help me out. Will keep you posted on my progress. mstngmama

I really like the way you have began to build a strong support group on the local level. Yes, we are here and are so to assist you if we can...yet, the key to the success of a quit is in knowledge (left side of page) and local support. Others here will tell you that you must quit for yourself and no one else. I encourage you to read my Hall of Fame Success Story to see what motivated me to finally stay quit. Family is so important here. Let's get to the doctor and continue to anticipate the permanent quit. mstn, This is great preparation and you can be successful. Continue working with your doctor and try and come up with a plan that works for you. Everyone's quit will be different and your will be unique. The members can share every step of the process with you, so don't hesitate to ask questions. Take the time to prepare and be ready for those craves. We are ready when you are! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
