I don't take it, but I've heard it gives you a nasty metallic taste and an aversion to smoking. Is that what you mean? I took wellbutrin (Zyban) to aid in my stop smoking program and was under a doctor's care. Now, three months later, and having been off of the drug for well over a month, every liquid I drink still has a bad taste and my breath is almost unbearable. Has anyone else experienced these lasting effects and if so, what advice do you have?

Hi, Joy. I was on Wellbutrin for about 6 weeks and never experienced what you describe. The only effect it had on me was "enhanced" my mood and probably made craves weaker. It never altered any taste or caused me to not want to smoke before my quit date. Hello Joy, Forgive me for sort of laughing at You, But Friend, I also experienced that same after-taste of Zyban when I was on it for 7 full weeks, But believe me, I much rather have the taste of Wellbutrin or Zyban on my breath, then Cigerettes, But the goal is to kick the addiction,, That is # 1, The bad taste of the pills will go away, just grab Yourself a bottle of listerine for awhile, its still a lot cheaper then cigerettes, If You can, just do a lot of walking daily, and drink lots of water, You can make it Friend, just don't be impatient, One day at a time, is the best way to go, Take care, Smokless In Oklahoma :)

Joy, Try speaking to your doctor and pharmacist regarding side effects and dosages. They can be of great assistance :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
