gosh, I just posted to Diva about having someone help me.  That is my motivator.  I don't think I'd be as far along if I didn't have someone involved in it with me.
I got my new furniture TODAY!!!! My very first ever brand new living room suite (couch, chair, ottoman, etegiere, tv stand, two end tables, a new one of the fancy tv's and a bluray disc player (lol, I got one and I don't have anything to put in it.).  I got my wii set back up!!!! Gosh it's pretty.  My two new lamps and a couple of vases.  I don't have my curtains hung yet nor any decorations.
We got the quarter round around the baseboards in two rooms.  Had to go buy a few things (tools, etc.) to make the job a little easier, so not as much accomplished today.  We also are going to start on the bedrooms next week.  I'm so excited.
Supposed to snow and unusual amount of snow for here.  If it does, the whole town of 10,000 will shut down.  We don't have equipment to handle 7-10" of snow.  It only happens about once every 15 years or so.  What that means is I won't get my paint!  lol
I do have propane heaters, a cook stove and things prepared to go take care of my grandmother.  We had that big ice storm last year and power was out for 22 days.  She is 99 years old, 98 then, and I didn't have anything but us going to my son's in-laws.  Now I was very grateful and so was she that they welcomed us.  However, it was unsettling for her; she lives by herself and there 15 people there.  We won't have to do that this year.  I've been gathering stuff for the next big storm.
lol, of course, some say flurries other say up to 10".  I'll know when I wake up in the a.m.

I need a curriculum for my second class.  Plan A didn't work; gotta move to Plan B with that class.  lol, I will get it figured out before my next class.  One of the counselors stopped me in the hall and told me she gets good positive feedback about my teaching style and guineness from the consumers.  Also, that they learn something from my class.  I always love a compliment like that - you know they didn't have to stop you in the hall - she just did!

rofl at my own DIY network.  I was taught if you want something done,do it right as a woman you got to learn to be self-suffient - can't depend on someone else, and lol, not something you can't do if you set your mind to it.
Well, depression changed the last one.  I couldn't get motivated....a friend is helping me.  She needs her own DIY network.  Although we do make a good team!!!!
Got the biggest room in the house done - what used to be the LR is not the Den and visa versa.  So both the LR and Den are done!  Going down the hall tomorrow.  woo hoo
Got my preferred television satellite connected today, with my new HDTV and bluray disk player and my WII is hooked back up - yeah, for WII on HDTV (sorry, poet)
Have a dr. appt tomorrow but going to work around that and my friend keep on laying floor.  My new living room furniture will be delivered Thursday a.m.  (I need to hang NEW curtains).  I have a therapy appt. on Thursday but again she said she'd do it.  (Now how awesome is that!!!!!)
Paint (long story why has to be ordered nothing special) is supposed to be in Friday - so can't finish a little bit we lack in the hall.  :)
Then gonna tackle the bedrooms.  3 of them!  Some tile work; changing two light fixtures; putting down quarter round.  Fixing three leaking faucets; painting outside windows; replacing carpet on porch.
I know it will be hard after all this work to leave here....but I don't think I'm gonna like being a country girl who lives in the city any better after it's done.
I'm just so excited.
Did I mention, I got asked to teach another class at my job.  Every other Wednesday night!  I don't like much putting some of these things in "Success Stories".
Thanks for all the encouragement and positive feedback - it helps more than you'll ever know!!!!!!!!

Wow Goofy, you are soon going to have your own DIY television show.  And if you don't feel like selling when all is said and done, at least you will have a beautiful home that you put alot of your heart and soul into and the memories of the DIY feel good feeling you receive when you do it yourself (even with help).
Keep up the great work and if I could summon up 1/10  of your energy I would be floating on a cloud.
You go girl.

Sounds great Goofy! I'm glad things are rolling on the renovations front! Hopefully, you will still feel like selling once everything is complete, it sounds like it's going to look really nice! Do check in and let us know how you make out!

Picked up the laminate flooring today.  51 boxes all in the house - have to wait 48 hours to lay it so it can acclimate to this termperature.  Starting Monday.  Got a list of little "to do" things to prepare.  Wash baseboards, vacuum floor, move a few things we got out when we were painting.

I am soooo excited.  Also picked out the last type of flooring that I will need it the entrance to my house.  yipee.  I need to pick out paint colors for two bedrooms.  I'm changing out two light fixtures outside; 5 inside; got all but three bought but I know what I want.  I got curtains figured out for all but two bedrooms.  Buying a new curtain rod for my new living room with my living room furniture.  NOTHING is going to be in that room that isn't new.  I deserve it.

My friend and I were joking today; when I get all this done I may not want to sell.  However, I will still have neighbors all around and feel like I'm living in a fish bowl.  This country girl needs to move to the country.  I'm excited.  The guy came and finished my windows today.  I got some landscaping to do and a few small projects outside and I need to get rid of things as I place things back in the rooms.  Yard Sale time is what that will be.

I am excited and It feels good even with no flooring to walk in this house!  Also, there is a mess from where we've been working, but I don't even see that.

Ah, enough, I'll update ya after Monday!  See how my floor installation skills are!!!!!

Please do go on and on Goofy!

Love hearing about it! I can't believe how much you have accomplished in such a short time!  WoW!

I can only imagine how great it will be when it is finished!
