You're already doing what is best for you as a person with MDD. You're going to see your doctor, maybe get a referral to a psychiatrist, taking the medications that the doctor prescribes and giving it time for them to kick in and relieve the worst of the pain of depression - and finally, coming to this site and talking to your fellow members and then working the cognitive behaviour therapy sessions which are essential to the usefulness of this site!
