Hi Liquid, there is something I really wanted to tell you. First you have to know that depression is not your fault and you've shouldn't blame yourself for it. And I know exactly how do you feel. I felt the same. I was very afraid from getting help and didn't want to accept that I need to see a psychiatrist. But I finally did because there is nothing I can do about it. I accept that depression is like any other kind of physical illness that need to be treated and otherwise it would still keep me back where I shouldn't and don't want to be. May be it will take sometime for you to accept it. Just remember that you don't want to lose more opportunities in your life... take care.

Thank you guys so much. You have all been of help to me, this site seems very nice and I'm going to continue coming here to get some help and to try and help others. I thank you personally, Batty1986, because I felt so at ease reading your response. I might take you up on your offer and PM you sometime. We'll see if I can take that move, heh. It is nice to know others truely have been there and can really understand.

Liquid, Welcome to our support community. Please feel free to take a look around and see the many tools we have available. We are currently working on a Depression Program and it will be ready soon :) If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find our Depression Test. This test is not a diagnostic tool and is not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. If you have any question or concerns with our site or please contact Support Department at support@depressioncenter.net. We are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Hope this helps, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

Hi I too felt (and to some extent still feel) that my depression is something I've bought onto myselfand that the issues I am faced with are no different to those faced by many others and they weren't feeling like me. However going to see my doctor really was a positive step. Immediately after a long consultation I felt less alone, he made me see that depression wasn't my fault, but like getting a cold, was an illness - WHICH CAN BE TREATED. The medication he prescribed had a positive impact on my mood withing weeks. Unfortunately after another few weeks I "plateaued" and I have the dosage increased. Again though, talking with my doctor helped me feel that conquering depession was possible, it is just going to take time. I still have feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness but these are (with the help of the medication, and typing this to you) being interspersed with periods of more positiveness. The problems and worries are still there, but I know in time they will become something that I manage, rather than they managing me. Hang on in there, talk to your doctor, s/he will understand and help you to find a way of coping. Take care

Hello, I am new here. I have not been diagonosed with anything due to the fact that I am afraid of help. I'm 18 years old and have been feeling depressed for more than three years. I feel as though this depression that's been longing onto me is holding me back from opportunities. I can't get any sort of person to find interest me, I'm lost in my thoughts of hopelessness and worthlessness. I know I am depressed, but, I can't get myself to agree fully with myself. I tell myself that I bring on this depression to myself, I am at fault. I don't know what I'm doing to bring it on, but I continue to blame myself for it. I don't know what to do, I'm lost in myself. Any sort of helpful/nice words would be muchly appreciated. Thank you...
