thanks for your insight into spiritually as compared to religion. i am somewhat wary of organized religion. i suspect many of these people want both my soul and my money, on their terms, though i quickly add that their are certainly a great many wonderful people attending church and also good pastors and priests. one merely has to exercise a bit of caution in selecting a religious institution.
I would really like to become more spiritual..to spend some time talking with God...time during which I can forget about my problems, time during which I can refresh myself and time during which i can motivate myself...all with God's help, of course ;).
Like yourself i didn't experience any religious instruction in my adolescent years, so I don't have any emotional attachments to God. i am starting from scratch and have much to experience and experiment with. I find it all quite interesting, but also quite confusing. i don't even bother looking for rational explanations. I merely accept that there is a God who loves me, who will listen to me, who will forgive me and who will guide me. that's the starting point on a long long road.
well this turned into quite a long posting
take care

I was brought up agnostic, but married into a Roman Catholic family, attended regularly.....came to see that Religion and Spirituality are not synonymous..... Today in fact, I was thinking that God talks directly to me through my heart. No question, there is both good and evil in the world and we have to recognize a higher power to know our place in the universe. :)
hello
how many of us attend church these days? is it perhaps an archaic neglected intstution? is it relevant for you? how does it affect your mood? any inputs?
