Hi there...I'm a little new to this. I'm a 19 year old guy and I've suffered from depression and generalized anxiety for the last few years. It culminated around the beginning of 2004 and I took a really bad downward spiral while I was at college and began self-medicating with a lot of alcohol (I mean a LOT!) and other drugs. Anyway, my friends and family finally got me to get some help at the beginning of this summer and I've been doing better ever since. I take prozac and have seen a marked turnaround in my mood and day to day activities. I **** near failed out of college because I used to not be able to get out of bed some days, and now I'm doing a lot better. I'm starting to feel a bit more like my old self again and am doing my best to be "okay". I thought maybe joining a discussion group like this and talking to others who have similar problems and concerns might help, so...here I am. Looking forward to it! -Matt
