HI Michelle, im new here, but i can identify with you, ive had mmd for thirty years i also have indescribable anxiety as well, my meds have just been increased amytriptylene 200mg i am sleeping a lot better, but i just dont know how i get through, i feel as though its always me who everyone has to work around and that makes me hate myself and what it does to my family they are very supportive and never complain, when im well i feel like ive been let out of prison,i enjoy life at least until the next time, i appreciate that it seems very negative and it doesnt matter how many times i go down, it is always the same and always very hard, it can be so soul destroying and seeks to squeese out the person that i am reading your post has helprd me tonight hope you feel better soon cadge

Welcome, Michelle. I'm sorry you're feeling so awful at the moment. When we are sick, we tend to feel we are alone. It sounds like you have some good family support around you though? The frequent down cycles are something you could note in a diary or calendar and discuss with your doctor. Perhaps he/she might review your meds and see whether others might help more. Don't hate yourself for this. Hate the disease instead. Please don't add self-punishment on top of your present misery. Do something nice for yourself today, ok?

I am new!! I have been suffering with depression since I can remember. I am 34 and my life is hell at the moment. I just get through an episode and then a couple of weeks months later it all starts again. My brain is against me I think, It tells me thinks that really are there, its horrible..I hate this disease and wot it does to me and my family, I know I am not the only one to feel this way, but you do feel on your own. The medication i am taking is lofepramine, andI think it works, but sometimes i don't know whether I pull myself through! I had myself!
