I am stuck, cannot seem to do things

I have been through similar situations. What works for me is to keep a log and hold myself accountable. I started doing this for the gym and noticed how many times I was going. I started going 4 to 5 times a week, and I didn't feel bad when I couldn't make it because I would write on my log why, for example, "was sick this day or week", "had to take care of the kids" or "had a meeting". I gave myself flexibility but kept myself accountable.

Hi MaryLouise,

Procrastination or avoiding activities can be common for anyone and the cause can be varied. How are you feeling? Sometimes depressed mood can cause us not to want to do things we normally would. Other times we may just be in a slump. My suggestion is to make some specific, time stamped goals for yourself that you are excited about. For example, make a goal to walk three times a week at the same time everyday and when the times comes - do it! Be sure to also plan rewards for yourself when doing it.

What goals would you like to set for yourself?

Hi, My name is Marie. I have found the last year or so I seem to be unable to get household chores, do baking/cooking which I enjoy doing. I seem to want to come home after work and just sit and watch television or play solitaire. What is happening to me? I want to start walking again, I did that during the summer and it helped my mood and I was more flexible. But now I just can't seem to go out and walk. I think and think about it, then I get angry at myself because I don't walk. It's constant chatter and arguments in my mind and I am tired from all of this. It's counterproductive.
Does anyone have a suggestion or have experienced this?
