How Embarrassing!

Once I was singing while driving, and someone mimicked me with their friend.  I didn't know I was being watched.

1 Today there was a tai chi class,  and people were more late than usual.  To make the instructor, who's students other than myself never show up on time, although I do, I stated the weather might be factor.

When only other student that day showed up, the instructor suggested that I made that remark, making both of us feel uncomfortable.  I didn't say anything to create any more tension.

I did make some other jokes, so we might be distracted from the inappropriate remark.

2 Another embarrassing situation was that I had a manicure, and some shiny substance made my nails stand out at a business meeting.  In the future I asked for nothing on my nails.

3 When I received my cellphone at work, I talked publicly in mixed company, until I understood it was inappropriate. Since then, I always had my phone on silent(vibrate),etc.

I figure there are two kinds of embarrassing moments. Ones caused by yourself. And ones caused by others. There are two caused by the latter that I can neither talk about or laugh about. Both took years to accept were not my fault. Both changed part of my life. As for the others, there are lots, just none come to mind right now which just goes to show how little important they are.

When I was little more than a boy I got invited to a girls bedroom, just before her dad came home and had to jump out a window. Turns out she did this to all the boys and her dad not only knew but didn't care.

When I was logging I was going home and reached into my lunch bucket for a cookie and drove in the ditch. I had to flag down a log truck to pull me out.

When traveling around BC taking pictures I set my camera on the roof of my truck to answer the call of nature and drove away with it on the roof.

Being slung from bed to wheel chair with the breeze blowing up my gown.

Bed pans and whirlpool tubs.

No one likes to be embarrassed; in fact, remembering a past embarrassment can elicit quite a pang of emotional discomfort even a long time after the actual event. So how do you get over that past hurt? Talk about it! Or better yet laugh about it!

Please share some of your embarrassing moments. The more the better!
