Your feelings are understandable considering how much you valued the friendship. Maybe she just got back and did not have the time to check in with you yet. I suggest you challenge your thoughts by asking yourself if they are true, what the evidence is for it being true or against it being true, and if this has this ever happened before. Perhaps you can give her a call and take it from there. Members, do you have any other advice for CindySue?

One component of treatment with OCD involves geting people to gradually reduce their compulsive behaviour and "exposing" themselves to the discomfort (anxiety) created by not perfroming the compulsion.
The second main component for treatment of OCD involves getting people to do exposure work in which they "expose" themselves to their disturbing thoughts.
A third component of treatment for OCD involves getting peope to use thought records to challenege what the disturbing thoughts "mean," including for example, their sense of responsibility for bad things happening to other people.

Sorry to hear that you are overwhelmed with your responsiblities. It must be tough caring for your ailing father under these circumstances. Rose306 mentioned a good idea to have a nurse or a relief worker assist with your father's care. Perhaps you can contact your local community access centre or his physician for a referral. Members, have you come across a similar role transition? Have any suggestions for Goofy?

Well said . Julie, it may also be helpful to channel your negative thoughts through tension releasing to avoid releasing any aggression upon others as you fear:
1) Let go of the tension in your neck and shoulders.
2) Let go of the tension in your jaw.
3) Focus completely on your breathing, nothing else.
4) As you exhale, let your shoulders drop and let your body sink into wherever you are.
5) Repeat this until you feel relaxed and centered.
It's a skill. You may have to practice it several times a day to make it a normal part of your routine.
