Lainey, Just a misguided attempt at humor. ;) And Josie, thanks for posting this. I still need to get better at rewarding myself.
Today is a big day for me and I am rewarding myself by doing exactly what I want to and not a thing more. Or less.

Jazz, whatever you decide about the patch has to be a personal decision but don't let it jeopardize your quit. Yes, you are a quitter. You are not hoisting a cigarette to your face. Many, many have used an NRT or other aid to help them develop the skills to get rid of this addiction. I stopped about a month in and almost lost it so I went back for a couple more weeks.
How are you doing on the patch? Do you think it is helping with the cravings? Have you tried before without the patch? Think it through a little and then decide. Do what you think is right for you but remember you can always change your mind, no matter what you decide.
Jazz, I am not sure what nicotine alone does to our body. I know it is the chemicals in cigarettes that can do a lot of the damage. Perhaps Josie and some others with some knowledge can chime in here and answer this question.

Just my opinion, but I think in order to "cheat", you have to sneak a cigarette.
Give yourself a big Hug Jazz. What you accomplished is no easy feat - patch or not

OK Freedom, Thanks for the push. I will get a list together and post it.
I found a can (see great dream thread) and have been putting away the money saved on my quit meter. I think my wife and I are going to take a mini vaca around the 100 day mark.

Do you remember that day we threw the cigs out? 50 days seemed miles away. But it really went fast. Here's to the next 50.
Sparky, that poor cat. He/she doesn't look too thrilled at the moment. I will pass on the swim until Mr. Kitty is out of the pool.
Thank you all for taking the time to stop in.

Kodi, When I was a little younger I would tell myself that I can go out and throw back a couple with my friends and I simply wont smoke. It never happened once.
You already know what happens to your will and good senses after a few drinks so your answer may be right there. No judgement, my friend, I've been there. Good Luck to you, And Congrats on the 3 weeks.
And what Jan58 said, You can get pretty sick ( a friend ended up in ER with nic poisoning) if you smoke on the patch so that might be a pretty good motivator if you are out with some pals.

Mercy, You hit it on the head. For me it is Self respect. That is the reward. I just have to work on the smaller ones, now. You are coming up on a whole year. Way to go Mercy!!! And Thanks all for the thoughtful support.
And I have to ask, What is this "Tuesday" thing? I have a feeling I am missing out on a good joke or something.

Hey there DL, just a quick thought on the coffee thing. I love my morning coffee and refused to give it up. But I did go out and get several different kinds of those flavor creamers to add just to make it a little different than usual. It's a small thing but sometimes the little things can take the edge off in the beginning. And whatever you do, listen to Tresa because she keeps a close watch. Thanks Tresa
Good Wishes to you DL

Hey Freedom, This is a little off the subject but I saw a reference to Flaxseed between you and goofy and I can't find the thread. I am just being curious because I use it everyday and was wondering what you were sharing about.
