What is your biggest benefit from quitting?

My whole life has changed RM and thanks for asking! I am able to live in and enjoy the here and now because I no longer have to worry about when and where I will be able to have my next smoke. I feel at peace with myself, as if for the 1st time in years.........I am choosing to do things not being dictated to by this inner self-destructive force, the force that rearranged every waking moment to suit his self gratifying need. Amen Cheers, Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 163 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,451 Amount Saved: $652 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 8 Mins: 58 Seconds: 49

Detoxifying from cigarettes

You are definitly on to something here, Alison. This indeed might even be one of those X-Files! I have seen people go back to smokeing after 10 years knowing full well that there is no good reason to do so. I was thinking along the same lines only a few days ago, as a matter of fact! Why, if araenic remains in your hair and nails forever, lead, once it is in your body...........has been proven to have an accumulative toxic effect, repeated exposure to asbestos, coal dust and now possibly microwaves and all of the other "waves" we are now exposed to could be cummulative and possibly toxic, does aluminum in our toothpaste contribute to Alzheimer's?...............is it so far fetched to think that this demon as we call "it", could possibly be a certain chemical which will remain with us forever. Only by behavior modification can we realistically keep "it" in check? Many interesting theories , Allison.......would love to hear more. So, many new dicoveries , everyday about our DNA and what might possibly be etched there. Good News is that the mind is still a powerful intrument and we do have control over what our body does...............IF ONLY IT WOULD LISTEN!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US AS WE SOLDIER ON IN SEARCH OF FREEDOM!
