How can I go back to being "normal"?

spartan, this would be the ultimate exposure therapy for you. i think you would love it, being surrounded by pure beauty all the time, seeing things that most people in canada will never get the oppurtunity to see. it might be tough at first, but ultimately you have learnt enough skills to do anything that you what. if you are not into photography, now would be a wonderful time to start, photographi is ultimate escapism, i can lose a whole day to my camera.

just picture this....youre sitting in a beautiful landscape, family of polar bears hanging out, got some classic rock (some led zepp maybe;-)) playing in your ears. sounds awesome to me. sounds like a once in a lifetime oppurtunity.

let us know what you do!!

Take the Challenage

treat everything with love and the love will find its way back to you.

i helped a client out, went really out of my way to figure out how he was going to pay the immigration fees for his family to move to canada, today i got a payrise and was serenaded with wine and chocolate from my client.i helped him because i wanted to help him not because i was looking for anything in return, the material goods are great but literally seeing someone that happy made my day.

March Ask the Expert - Caffeine and Anxiety

I find caffeine is terrible for anxiety, it elevates heart and makes me grind my teeth, it basically simulates panic...doesn't stop me from drinking it though

in my line of work i have realized that you really need to be social and go out for drinks in order to advance in the corporation. so alcohol is becoming a bigger factor in my life, i drink responsibly but a few months ago i wasn't drinking at all. i feel terrible the day after i drink (depression wise).

i literally know dozens of people that smoke marijuana all day every day and it has no depressive or anxiety related effect. i smoked for years and when i started feeling anxiety, i cannot attribute it directly to marijuana but to being incapable of handling the situations i found myself in, possibly due to being stoned but the heights of panic occurred one year after i had smoking it.

i think  you can do whatever you want as long as you do it in moderation. (with the obvious exceptions of crack, heroin etc.. lol) as not doing them to alleviate symptoms of mental health disorders.

medications

Ativan overdoes nearly killed me, or i should say nearly made me kill myself. i was taking 6mg a day with no guidance from doctors. just an unlimited supply and the doctors advise "take one whenever you want", which resulted in complete delusion and me 'losing my marbles'.

now i am on 10mg of paxil (down from 20mg 2 weeks ago) and sleeping pills at night. i respect that the meds have stabilized my mood and have helped me get through a troubling time in my life. hate the fact that i am reliant on them. i want nothing more then to be off the meds and go back to living a medicine free life and have no health anxiety. where i can go out and finish off my twenties with fun and games and no worry that drinking this beer will have a negative reaction with my pills and kill me.

I will be off them soon

How can I go back to being "normal"?

spartan, the first day back at work is the hardest day. i was only off of work for two months but when it came time for me to go, i was so nervous......but.....today i have been back two months, one of the top performers in my region and its as if nothing ever happened. its common to be anxious about going back but you will cherish the fact you are busy day to day and not at home dwelling.

anxiety back??

Hey everyone, its been a while since i posted. Basically my anxiety almost went away, just hand the slight feeling in my chest but for the most part it was gone; however, the past couple of weeks it has started to come back pretty strong. At this very moment i am on the verge of a full blown panic attack, something that hasn't happened for months.

I don't understand whats happening, im doing well in my life generally, negative people removed from my life, on the verge of promotion at work, working out regularly and just trying to be happy. I'm pretty frustrated right now, i feel like there is unfinished business that i need to sort out before i can get better.

Any suggestions??
