ending a bad relationship

Congratualations on your new lifestyle!!! And thanks for this it is just what I needed to hear right now. I'm desperately trying to get a paper written and my BIL is outside puffing away... and all I can think about is smoking. To see that after a month you managed to go a whole day without thinking about it... well it gives me hope :) Plus I have a mad bad headache... HELP !! Angry... sooo angry

OK I'm calm again.. thanks guys... that was a close call... seriously I was considering looking for butts in the car. God damned junkie brain. I am so determined to beat this. I'm definitely talking to hubby when he gets back about how to deal with our obvious irritable moods and some ways to reward ourseleves this week. We were both doing good. But, on the bright side, I got through this and I REFUSE to have another cigarette. It helps just writing here. Thanks for listening!! I also just noticed that my chocolate tastes better than before. See things are already looking up. You guys are awesome and I am so full of gratitude to be able to come here and ask for help and getting such great advice. I've been reading the hall of fame and its inspiring. Anyway better go deal with the hubby. Much love Danni My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/31/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 115 Amount Saved: $15 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 15 Seconds: 24

emotional

I'm with you heather... mood swings, irritabilty, irrational behavior, violent tendencies (I'm kidding about the violence :)... This will pass I know it. I quit for six minths before and this bit does go away. Just look after yourself and don't beat yourself up because you're a bit weepy. Try and relax. It WILL get better. NOPE... HELP !! Angry... sooo angry

Just an update... Well neither of us smoked so we are on to Day Four. We were extra special nice to eachother this morning... I even put a note in his work bag telling him how proud I am of him. So we spent the rest of the night talking about rewards... and we decided that as our big treat we would save the money we would have spent and treat ourselves to a week in Italy!! This has been a dream of both of ours so I'm even more juiced for this quit now. Otis I think you're spot on in arguing just as an excuse to smoke. I'm definitely going to work on avoiding arguments and doing my deep breathing and yoga when feel stressed. Hey I might even go for a run with the hubby! Anyway thanks again guys. I think the support in this forum is going to help me (and hubby) make it this time. You are all such superstars!! HELP!!!

Hey everyone

I was here over a year ago when I managed to quit smoking for 8 months with the help of everone here and my own determination. Everything was awesome then - I managed to overcome a lot of my anxiety I was lookng after myself, eating well and exercising regularly. Then I got a new job and everything went down hill. My panic attacks returned and one afternoon at work when I went out side to panic, a coworker who also suffered from panic attacks gave me a cigarette to "calm me down." In that moment of weakness and fear I smoked it and set off a chain reaction which leads me back here today.

Fast forward to now. I quit my job, but did not quit smoking. My anxiety issues returned and I have not been looking after myself. But now it has become imperative that I get back on the wagon and I need your help. Yesterday I found I am pregnant with my first child. I am so excited as is my husband. Last night I made the decision to quit cold turkey which I have never done before. Now I am sitting here craving a cigarette literally crying my eyes out as I type this. My husband has gone to work and its just me sitting here. If there is anyone out there right now please help me throught this. I am already racked with guilt that I may have damaged this baby already.

Any advice appreciated.
