Carol - I will definitely do the "I'm free" dance with you!! Congrats on 3 weeks if freedom! So so amazing! Cold turkey was actually pretty uneventful for me. Felt a little run down and anxious but by 3rd felt actually very calm! Tomorrow is 3 weeks for me too! I feel like I am giving myself the best present I could ever ask for. Keep staying strong and again, congrats on a very awesome 3 weeks into your quit.

Carol - u already got down to 7mg so I think u will totally be able to handle bring nicotine free! I like the one week thread idea. Easier to keep track of messages. Deb
So happy I have awesome quit buddies here! Carol - so, so, so proud of you! <---- fist bump* This morning I picked up my husband's pack of cigarettes and smelled them, haha! No urge to smoke one but sure felt strange to hold a pack of cigarettes. But I am exquisitely aware that I can never, ever take a drag of a cigarette... I pace a lot too Carol... I think it helps release nervous energy. I have been trying to get to the gym as often as possible. I have an app on my phone to train for a 5k. I am not used to being able to pull in a big breath - who knew you could expand your lungs so much!?
Hope you and everyone on the forum has a great smoke-free day! Celebrating Clean Air with you!!
i tried using e-cigs to "quit smoking" but went right back to the real thing. depends on the type of e-cig you use... i have tried several of them. the thing with e-cigs is what happens if: your battery and back up battery are dead, you run out of nicotine "juice", you can't find the charger to charge the e-cig; etc... what happened to me is that i went right out and bought a pack of cigs. so, essentially IMHO, e-cigs are equal to cigarettes as far as the addiction is concerned. whether or not they are better for you, i don't know. i guess it's better not to have the tar and filth that you get with tobacco cigs.
the main reason i wanted to reply to you is that I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE ON THIS FORUM! if you decide to give up the e-cigs and need support then i am stepping up to be your first quit buddy! believe me, a whole bunch of us quitters will be there to help you if and when you need/ask for it.
not sure if i really answered your question or not?! i know that divorce/break ups are extremely stressful, emotional and difficult. the upside is that now you can concentrate on YOU!
welcome! congratulations on becoming a NON-SMOKER! i am just over 3 weeks into my quit and i have also gained weight & have been experiencing mini breakdowns. i think you are very brave to have communicated your challenges to your children. hopefully they are supporting you and now you have a whole bunch of us that will support you too! being depressed, anxious, miserable, etc. are common when you are coming out of an addiction. i've had more good days than bad these last 3 weeks but i have freaked out like a crazy person a few times, that's for sure. i find this forum so helpful and reassuring. if you feel crappy, just log on. sometimes i just go back through everyone's old posts and find that we are all struggling in some way. the good thing is that you are not alone. hope to see you on here often.

Hang in there! Sorry you're struggling. Nicotine is such a heartless biatch. But I know you will work through it and come out victorious! Chew that gum if you need it, baby!!!
