Day 17

Awesome pick-me-up points here!!!

I had totally forgot about the vacation smoke stress factor!  Spending almost $100 to make sure I brought enough with me on longer trips, freaking out while camping if I only had a few left, chain smoking in front of my non-smoking partner or leaving him by himself every half hour to go have one...  YES!!  No more of that!!

Enjoy the Rockies!  What an amazing place to be to appreciate your health and freedom!

Thanks Sherry.  I'm really looking forward to being smoke free in the Rockies, it will be a lot easier to walk in the thin air also!!!
LOL no more looking for hotels with smoking rooms, finding places outside to smoke, jonsing after a meal to get out and smoke.  What Freedom!!!!

Your doing great Carlos.
Travelling is so much better when you do not smoke.
I really enjoyed my first trip as a non smoker ,way less stressful.

Thanks Eyja once again!!!  I totally know that even one puff is not on the agenda, not ever.  It is the slippery slope I have no intention of trying out :)

Just working on detoxing and cravings/urges; this is the number one priority in my life right now....being a non-smoker.  In 3 weeks I go on my next trip, I love to travel.  It dawned on me that this will be my first trip in 30+ years where I won't have to worry about where/when I will smoke.  So Empowering!!!!

Your Welcome Carol : )  I see you've found some new empowering tools and self supporting ways to keep you strong in your quit & in your body Carol!  Good for you - that awareness will do you well as you move forward in this journey.  I do believe you are well on your way to a lifelong quit this time : )  Isn't it awesome?
If you can just remember NOPE - it will get you through any muddled thinking you may come across when you mistakenly think you've come far enough to just have 'a puff' - just tell that muddled brain 'NOPE!' and you'll succeed from here on in! And enjoy those clear lungs when you get out for that run in nature :)

Eyja thanks so much for the Encouraging post!!!  I was needing that!!  Yes I am doing Great and I will continue to do so; because I See myself as a Winner, a Non-Smoking, Thin Winner :)  As long as I Believe that I can accomplish it!!!

Doing better today, at least mentally.  Eating under control and I'm a non-smoker!!!!  LOL I just figured out that I'm spending almost as much on SF candy and gum as I was cigs :)

I absolutely Refuse to allow myself to gain an amount of weight that will force me to buy a new size (wardrobe).  At the same time I have acknowledged that I needed to buy a couple of pants with elastic waists, and a couple of tops to wear over, not tucked in.  I did this yesterday.  It is a compromise I can live with.  Cheap clothes I won't feel badly disposing of when they are no longer needed.

My house contains only healthy food, I do not buy or consume junk.  If I have guests they take the crap I brought in for them home with them.  So if I engage in some over eating it will at least be food that is nutritious and low in calories.

The sun is out, I had a 1 mile easy walk without thigh pain.   Used wet heat and massage before and after walk, so far so good!  Not being able to exercise will be my biggest obstacle as I get depressed when I can't use it to release energy.  Will have to work on a solution to occupy myself adequately if I can't exercise.  Whatever it is it needs to be Energy consuming, not just keeping my mind & hands busy..... Any Ideas??

Keep the Quit everyone!!!!  We Can be healthy, joyous non-smokers :)
