I have not had a cigarette all day, but I am wearing a patch. This is all new to me and I hope it works!!! I really want to be in good health and be able to live a long healthy life
Thank you for the nice words of encouragement from you both! I have looked and will continue to look on this site everyday as I feel it will help me a great deal I refuse to touch a cigarette! I know it will be hard, but I know I can do it.
I decided to quit smoking this morning. I have been having trouble breathing lately and I figured this would be where to start. Good luck to me I am one of those people that love to smoke, not so much because of the the habit part. I actually like the taste and smell.
Thank you for taking the time to reach out to me I recently lost a family member due to breast cancer and it hit home pretty hard. However, I do not know if the cause was from smoking, but it was definitely something to think about. I am pretty sure the next couple of days are going to be extremely hard for me. I smoke on break at work, in the car, at home, after every meal, after my coffee, and even if I have a couple of drinks. Oh and of course it is always a great friend when stressed out My whole lifestyle is going to change and I am okay with that. I just have to get through it. Thank you for your words of kindness and encouragement...it means a lot!!!
People are saying that one of the withdrawals thatpeople have from quitting smoking is not being able to sleep very well. I already have trouble sleeping and now that I am quitting smoking I was wondering if anybody can give me some advice on how to get through this side effect. I would like to prepare myself before it even happens. Today is my first day of quitting. Thank you in advance!!
Thank you both for helping me out, it is much appreciated!! I am glad the sleeplessness will be temporary and the list that you guys gave me will help a great deal. It is amazing how much stuff I never thought of to do to help me fall asleep. I am going to try some of these steps this weekend. Again, thank you!!
Good job on quitting. This is very hard to do, I am with you on that! Last night I couldn't sleep at all. I was actually dizzy, had a horrible headache, and felt nauseous. I was up every 10 mins, tossing and turning. I think as the mins, hours, and days pass by it will get easier. It's definitely harder with the lifestyle I am used to, but that will change too and it will make it easier to not smoke. Keep going buddy!!
