Myth Or Fact?

15 years ago 0 22 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Gee, if we could really do with just a smoke here or there we would have a lot of social smokers, and the quitting process would not be as hard as it sometimes is.
If quitting was not so hard we would only have non smokers I think, because lots of people do try, but go back to smoking.
I know that I would go back to full-time smoking if I just had a couple of drags, done that, been there, so it is better to just stay away from it 100%, how tempting it sometimes may be.

So if you can please 'don't even try', you might fall for it again.

Absolutely a myth. And what's so healthy about air pollution anyway? I think we are best off breathing the cleanest air.

New me,

Smoking any number of cigarettes is harmful and so is second hand smoke. There are serious effect to your health that should be considered in both situations.

The best answer is to not smoke at all.

Members,  what do you think about this myth?

Hi Josie,
I know that I could not do it; but I have heard or read somewhere that if you only smoke a few a day, it is just like your lungs handling air pollution. I always thought, "geez, if I could smoke only 2 or 3 a day, I would not worry about it". I know that you are still addicted to those 2 or 3 each day..so the enslavement issue relates. But, is it really physically harmful if you only smoke 2 a day?

Myth:If I smoke only a few cigarettes a day, that's okay.

Fact: Smoking isn't safe even if you're smoking one cigarette a day. Every cigarette contains about 1 to 2 milligrams of nicotine, and it reaches your brain 10 seconds after you inhale.
