Quitting Smoking is easy!

16 years ago 0 3541 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
You're right, Misty Moonlight. Smokers do smoke when they feel guilt or sadness. We're non-smokers here so thank goodness we don't do that! Smoking is easier than going through your whole life never really feeling anything! First time reading this one, I did fine this weekend, a few small craves but nothing I couldn't handle. But reading this, wow, now I have a renewed strength and resolve in my reserves just in case I need it. Powerful stuff. For anyone saying "it won't happen to me", read this. Cigarettes Not Smoked

That's only a problem for smokers, MistyMoonlight. Those around here prefer to "feel" the guilt or sadness so it can be dealt with on another level, not medicated away. When we stop smoking there are MANY benefits. Besides, quitting smoking is easier than... Of course, the problem is that when smokers feel guilt or sadness... ... they smoke. John_in_NC, I think it was from a Yahoo message board discussion? (more details on first page of this post) Either way, I think this is very powerful too, and I love your idea for the series of 30 second spots. Would you be able to pull off such a job? Might the American Cancer Society sponsor a work like this? I think it's time to subtly pay back Joe Camel and that Marlboro cowboy... I'd help you if I can. It could also be a series of printed ads to go with a campaign. On rolling credits, you might include quotes from those who have actually died from smoking... just "deceased" after their names? Extremely sad, but could be very powerful for many. Go John Go! mamakitty

Bump because we know it's not easy but there are repercussions far more difficult. John_in_NC, Would make a good commercial as I think many smokers and quitters alike could relate to it. Thanks for the bump! What else is harder than quitting? Danielle - Bilingual Support Specialist
