I'm new to this too. I'm on my 3rd day. I'm using nicotine gum and it's really helping. If nothing else helps you should try that.

NancyB....I hope you are still on the QUIT...yes it is hard and scary...I went NO NICOTINE all at once.  was hard BUT have to say that being here and reading and posting has made it alot easier...when you feel the need to smoke sign on here...IT DOES HELP!  Please keep us posted on how you are doing and YES REWARDS ARE THE BEST TO KEEP YOU MOTIVATED!

you are right!  I should consider a reward for getting thru today......I haven't yet! I just want to sleep actually (I can't believe how tired you get by not smoking) - I think I just want to go to bed as early as possible :0)

You have come to the right place. We can all support you through this.  Begin by working your way through the program.  The more information you have the better prepared you will be for your quit.  Also, read and post often in the support group.
