I think planning is key to success, especially during the first few days. Have you had a chance to do some of the things over there on the left? Have your strategies ready. I spent a lot of time on this site in my earliest days...helped to pass the time with people who had faced the same challenges. Tons of support. Also, I used some substitutes...water, a fake cigarette holder, spoonfuls of mostly good food. I think other people use carrot sticks and the like. Also, if you can sleep, that helps...walks, movies, whatever will let you forget about it for a bit. Also, you could think of the time paqssing as good thing...e.g., I have been smoke free for an hour, I have been smokefree for 6 hours. It is a good thing...getting healthier each minute you don't smoke.
