Alright!! Great decision you've made. You will find that it gets better and more pleasing as time swells. Use your coping mechs, post often, keep your tools handy, and avoid/halt and watch nature do its thing. Good Luck and we're all here for ya!! Might help if you read my thread titled: 'How do YOU accept your quit, its still psychological'. It's a great thread and very helpful. You can find it in the New/General forum. :) Leolibra N.O.P.E. kickin nic's butt!! Jan58, work the tools on the left, drink lots of water, you can try cinnamon sticks, personnally I preferred the cinnamon sugarless gum, mints, lollies, or cut up straws and use those to keep hand and mouth busy. Deep breathing is very useful. Now you're all set, come here and post often. It can be done one day at a time :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 90 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,363 Amount Saved: $360 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 23 Mins: 38 Seconds: 48

Very admirable. There were several times today that I stopped for a moment and thought about the horrible acts of terrorism that happened five years ago. Like many in the US, and around the world, I sat glued to the TV as those terrifying events unfolded. We do have so much to be grateful for and like you, Jan, I am thankful for this opportunity to quit!

Windy, If your coping mechanisms aren't helping you ward off cravings, a distraction may help you get your mind off it. Focus on just getting through the next hour and reward yourself for doing so. Keep persevering, Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Jan58 -- WOW, see 50 cigs NOT SMOKED already, you're doing great. Keep drinking the water and stay busy! The time may seem to go by slowly, so plan some things, you will fins you have "more" time somehow. We must have smoked time away, right?
