Oh, monkeygirl, you are SO lucky!! Cheerioes are a wonderful substitution! (and my dear sweet thoughtful husband brought home not one but TWO boxes of Girl Scout Mint Cookies last night)! Yikes!! Put 'em under lock and key! I haven't had any trouble with chocolate, because sweet stuff is not tasting real good right now. The gum, maybe? But I have become addicted to Cheerios. I had them at my house for my granddaughter and grabbed a handful during the first few days of my quit. Since then I keep a bag on my desk at work and the box stays on my kitchen counter at home. Whenever the cravings hit or I feel the need to do something with my hands, I pop a few Cheerios in. Seems to help and I can definitely use the help with my weight and cholesterol. Here's a good one too. Get some of those little pretzels in the traditional pretzel shape, take one ROLO candy (chocolate w/carmel inside, put one on top of each of the pretzels. Bake for 2-3 minutes in the oven at 200 degrees, then take out and immediately push a pecan half into the top of each gooey melted chocolate. Tastes like a "turtle", but only 2 points Weight Watchers...so go ahead, make that chocolate craving without too much guilt! (me, I just dive into one square of the darkest (75%) chocolate I can find, more antioxidents and it seems to cancel that chocolate craving for me) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 666 Amount Saved: $141.53 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 5 Mins: 8 Seconds: 6

I've been quit for 8 days today and I think I've gained about 4 lbs, but I've been working that treadmill and stationary bike harder than usual. I never eat potatos and I just got done making a casserole full of scalloped ham and potatos. Geez what am I going to do with all that food???? Ahhh Now chocolate and candy I like and I always eat it whether I'm smoking or not. I do not keep deserts in my house though. So I am thinking I'll probably not have to bad a time with the weight gain. Well, what I have been doing, because I do need my chocolate; I have one (1) tablespoon full of chocolate chips with my coffee. I am surprise that is takes care of my crave for chocolate. Dark chocolate is also good for you, seriously. It may not sound like much, but if you let each piece melt before having another it last longer than a brownie or candy bar :eg: Try it; you will like it.
