Have to agree with Penitent. Once I hit the beach, my whole thought process changed that I can do this and still be in a good mood. Thanks to all on this site that we can do this with a good mindset. Just look at some of these stats above. Way to go all. In the interests of balance, this is a reminder for those who may be confused here at present. Yes, your quit may be much easier than the sentiment indicated by the thunderous number of recent bumps. All quits are different and some people struggle continuously for a long time, while others simply do not. :) :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1004 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20,088 Amount Saved: 5020 Life Gained: Days: 163 Hrs: 16 Mins: 22 Seconds: 16

Do not despair; there is nothing wrong with you! Sit back, smile, smell the roses and enjoy the ride. It's a happy club that we belong to and there are many, many more members than you'll ever know. One can concentrate one's efforts on being miserable but why not choose to be happy instead? It's the same amount of effort! Remember, most people are as happy as they want to be - if you want to be happy be! It really is that simple. Penitent, 996 days without a cigarette and happy, happy, happy for virtually all of them!!! :) :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 996 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 19,923 Amount Saved: 4980 Life Gained: Days: 162 Hrs: 8 Mins: 12 Seconds: 41

Pen is SO right.....it's about presenting positive thinking. Some people come by that naturally...others have to work at it. It IS possible to replace negative thoughts with positive ones...it just takes practice. You have to first recognize the negative thinking coming on and then learn to turn from it. I was also a positive quitter....I had cravings, but I always tried to find the positive or the humorous when negative thinking would try to creep in. Just remember....the junky in you does NOT like a positive, happy quitter....he will leave a person like that quicker than a sad, blue, morose or angry person. So put on a smile....remember, you are GLAD to be kicking ole nic out!
