Driving!

Thanks for the encouragement Ashley. I haven't thought about a reward, although photography is a huge passion, so time out with my camera is something I could do after a drive.

Great work!

You are one strong individual. How are you rewarding yourself for all your hard work? Rewards are an often overlooked but important part of an exposure place.

It's been a struggle but I'm making progress. I have avoided busy roads for longer than I can remember. I will happily drive around locally where it's quiet. I will drive on country roads without too much difficulty (but not that far from home yet) - but where there's traffic, junctions and traffic lights I have been the avoidance queen. I started the gradual exposure about 10 days ago, shaking at traffic lights but I still did it. I drove a short distance facing junctions in the evening, then further, still in the evening but making sure I had to sit at lights (my bug bear) and cross junctions. It has started to get a bit easier. I decided to drive this afternoon into the next town when traffic has been busier. I did it! I still feel anxious, and know it will be a while until I can do it panic free. But I am proud of what I have achieved. I am divorced and done it alone. (The one friend I did share my feelings with didn't understand so couldn't encourage me). Keep going with your exposure everyone. Yes it's tough. But we can all do it!
