Hi Azrin,
Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Yes, as an ex-smoker your mind can think of all kinds of bad things that can happen to you because you smoked. You just never really know.
Wow that blood pressure sure is high. Did the doctor have anything to say about it? Is it always high like this? Quitting smoking can be hard, as you know, and the added stress of quitting could raise your blood pressure, but not by more than a few points I wouldn't think. Deep breathing can help you to relax. Inhale through your nose, hold a few seconds then exhale through your mouth. Do it slowly 5 or 6 times and you should notice that it has helped calm you down. Try and keep an eye on that blood pressure if you can and track it for awhile.
As for your bloating and wind, yes this is a normal response from your body when you quit smoking for some people. It should subside in time. Your body is starting the healing process and it just takes time to get everything back to normal. If you are still concerned with it, check with your doctor again.
Stay strong and be sure and reward yourself for all the effort you have put into quitting, you deserve it!

Hi Timbo,

today i feel a lot fresh compare to the day i was smoker. Its irritate me for me for having chest pain and palpitation. thinking i was having an heart attack. i have undergo a series of heart check up including echocardiogram test. the show that my heart working at 80% capacity which mean it in good health. but i still can kick the feeling think i was sick with heart attack. it is weird to feel sick after we remove the habit of getting sick such as smoking.

my bp also rose to 180/110 from 133/92 - 144/102 average. it is normal to have this kind of things? i also have terrible bloating and gas plus wind.

how long this will be go from me?

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hi Azrin,
15 days of being a quitter, good for you!!! Yes the nicotine withdrawal can be  hard, but by now, the nicotine is all out of your system. Now it's that nasty Nico-Demon trying to trick you into giving in and having a cigarette. You need to stay strong and the cravings will be less as each day goes by. Hang in there, you're doing great. It's good that you saw your doctor about your heartburn and stomach aches. Sorry to hear about the gastric juices. Did  the doctor give you any advice about the foods you are eating? As for the chest pains and coughing, that could be from your body trying to start the healing process. You could be sore from all the coughing. Did the doctor have anything to say about that too? Coughing is part of the healing process when you quit smoking. Your lungs are trying to expel all the tars that they have collected over years of smoking. The coughing should subside in time. If not, maybe you should see your doctor again. Whatever you do, don't start smoking again. It's not worth it. You can....you are beating the addiction. You have over two weeks already smoke free to prove it. Keep us posted on your progress.
Stay strong.

Hi My name is Azrin

Today is my 15 days of quit smoking after almost 4 years smoking on average 7 stick of cigarrates a day. For me, i dont have any craving for cigarrates anymore. But the nicotine withdrawals surely hell for me. For last 2 weeks, i have terrible heartburn and my stomach ache. I also experience chest pain and coughing. I have check with my doctor yesterday because of this issue. They do ECG test on me. the result were normal and the doctor said it was because of gastric juice entering esophagus. Please help me, i feel i am losing right here.
