Well perhaps you did not break entirely...Yes you went and had a smoke ok, everyone here has done the same at one time or another.  But perhaps it might be more useful to consider this a learning experience.  In the moment that you decided to resume the cycle, you also found out a bit about what you are up against.  This is a hard addiction.  It might be useful to examine what was going on in the moment that you choose to return to smoking.  My heart goes out to anyone who is up against this addiction simply because I do understand how powerful it can be.  But I also understand that it does not have to be a controlling force in your life.  How one takes back the reins is an individual matter.  But underlying the entire process is a necessity to grasp a fundamental understanding of the nature of the addiction.  Keep learning more about the process of the addiction that keeps us bound to its repetitive rhythms.  There is a logic in it, use your knowledge to employ a strategy that will allow you to get past lunch and move on into the banquet hall of cessation...There are many folks here who will help you.  Keep trying and above all keep posting, you will find that writing it down will help...

Your right. The best is to quit cold turkey and remember NOT ONE PUFF EVER.

First week is kinda rough but not like a sharp stick in the eye. The cravings are more like an annoyance.
Get over it. It is not that tough.
 
If you really want to quit, these are the main things that helped me.
 
Make a long list of reasons why you want to quit and keep that list right where you keep your cigarettes.
 
Stay away from smokers! At least for three months.
 
Eat healthy and start exercising so you do not put on weight.
 
Remember, you are a non smoke the minute you say, that's it! Enough for me, I quit!

My experience with "weaning" is that it really prolongs the agony; it kept in a constant state of crave.
The alternative was to put the things down, use whatever help I needed; e,g, patch, pills, whatever, and know that the first 3 days are only 72 hours.  After that, it really gets easier every day.

As Rock and Breanne said, you have to be prepared. Yo have to make it the first priority in your life. Just be sure that you really want to do it. You have to make a NONNEGOTIABLE DECISION TO STOP SMOKING.
Its alright, you can do it. Just go trough my program and understand your addiction!
