The first few days for me were almost unbearable. But it does pass. I am on day 20 and my cravings are much farther apart and are over very quick. During these times, I try to remind myself of why I wanted to quit in the first place, the benefits I am already noticing, and all the aspects I despised about smoking.
You can do this. You are doing great!! By the time your birthday comes, these symptoms will all be a distant memory.
It gets better MissBetty. One of the posters here, who's name escapes me, wrote that for the first stage of her quit she saw herself as a struggling ex-smoker then gradually began to feel like a triumphant non-smoker. I too experienced this and found that I was less and less strung out by day six or seven. I've found that finding a private location and screaming at the top of my blackened lungs helps as well.
