Try drinking cold water, the colder the better...It does help a great deal when you get deeply into those dreadful valleys...Here is one I used...It is really quite techno-nerdish but it also worked...I used to carry a stop watch around and when the old craves came calling my name I would start the ticker. When I reached the end of the line (these things do have a wave like form) and I was no longer craving, I would stop the watch (guess that's why they call it a stop watch). In case I found that these cravings where really of short duration. However if I did not have the time piece, my mind would have told me that they where endless. That is part of the addiction. Another mind game that gets played on us poor old addicted souls...
Stay with it and learn, learn and learn some more...You are both the teacher and the student in this exercise...You must realize that you are able to "teach" yourself out of the addiction...
stay well

In those early tough days when I wanted to chew my arm off, my mantra was "smoking is not an option for me." It reminded me that I was making a choice and I intended to stick with my choice. Hang in there!

Way to go Want2stayquit. In my first week I found that I would do ike Rock suggested and even take facing the cravings one minute at a time. They do pass but they also sneak up on you when you least expect. I had to make a list of coping ideas to get through them.
Best of luck and congrats for quitting!!

Want2stayquit, you can do this! Update your quit plan. Put together a crave cart of carrot sticks, straws, altoids, etc. to help! One day at a time, one hour at a time if needed. I'm so glad you are 6 hours down without a crave!
