Marie you have given up absolutely nothing. And you can have a smoke anytime you want to. You are grown and free, right? The beauty is that you DO NOT WANT to smoke. Say that to yourself ... it is empowering. good job! Your doing great. It takes a while to get adjusted to the fact that you are not smoking anymore. It will come though. Hang in! There is a great saying posted on the front page By the yard it's hard...By the inch it's a cinch! Sometimes things are just that simple. Yes, by the Yard it is Hard, by the Inch it is a Cinch says it all. Tomorrows quote of the day will be the one I submitted about the digestion of an elephant. Or is it possible to do so. The answer is a simple one in deed. Break that elephant down in bite-size or manageable pieces and you can then see your goal and succeed. Related here: Do not say to yourself that you have quit tobacco. Say that you are sure you can manage the NOT smoking of the next cigarette. Yes, it is as small as just the next one NOT smoked. Get it. Marie, Welcome to our support community. Please take the time to look around and prepare for those craves. By using avoidance and distraction, as well as coping mechanism, you can push forward through your journey. We are always here to support and guide, so post often and let us help you. Congrats, 3 days is an amazing beginning! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
