Annie, Welcome to the site and congratulations on becoming an ex-smoker! It is great to hear that you are ready to quit! The question is are you prepared? Please take advantage of our free Online Treatment Program in your glove compartment as you log into our site. This program will first help you determine if youre ready to quit. If youve already quit and are looking for some help, this program is for you. Although the program will first assess if youre ready to quit the exercises at the beginning of the program will help remind you of the reasons why you quit in the first place. Dont get frustrated - ex-smokers have told us that the exercises at the beginning of the program gave them confidence and helped them reaffirm their personal commitment to remain smoke free. The exercises in this program are divided into six major milestones. Think of each milestone as a destination youre trying to reach. After you complete the exercises in each milestone, your car will progress along the road map located at the bottom left-hand side of the screen. The best thing about this program is that it is free and you dont have to purchase any products to use this program. We hope that we have guided you in the right direction today! Please feel free to contact our support department in our feedback section found at the bottom of this page if you continue to have any questions or concerns. Or, please continue to join us here at our online support group! We wish you all the best and look forward to helping you achieve your goals! Take Care, Melanie ____________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Annie - well done for planning ahead for your quit!! I am sure there will be tons of people quitting the same time as you - isn't it National No Smoking Day for some countries on March 11? I'm pretty sure it is in the UK.... In any case there is loads of support here, stacks of advice and tons of fantastically supportive people!! Stick around - you can do it!! YEAH!! Hi. I'm Annie, a "newbie". I've chosen March 14, 2006 as my quit date and am just browsing this site to see if I can find a buddy (or buddies) who are in the same boat as me. If anyone has anything to share with me, please do. I'm open to suggestions, questions, etc. Not too sure how this forum works, but let's give it a shot. Thanks everyone. I plan on using the patch and have considered contacting my doctor for Wellbrutrin as well. Has anyone tried it before? I really want to succeed THIS time. I've quit before. It's the STAYING quit that I find hard. I guess I give in too easily to the temptation. But I think "I'm finally sick enough of this bloody habit to pitch it forever!" I've always said, anyone can quit; it's the "staying" quit that's the hard part. That's another reason I logged onto this site. More support. I just may decide to quit earlier than March 14, but I chose that date because our daughter is getting married on March 11 and I babysit my 3 grandkids every Monday (ages 5, 3 & 1 yrs), so that's how the "magic" March 14th was decided. Hey, I do need a little sanity for this undertaking right? Thanks again for all who have responded. I'll keep coming back. Annie.

WELCOME TO SSC ANNIE!!!!! You have given yourself quite a bit of time to prepare for your quit. Some people find that they are ready before their quit date and if tht happens so go ahead and quit.....sometimes thinking about it and dwelling on it is harder than just going ahead and quitting. I found the patches were a big help to me, however many here go cold turkey. WHATEVER WORKS FOR YOU!!!! Feel free to ask questions or express how you are feeling. Someone is usually around to help you.
