Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays

Hi Moni Thanks for posting. Everyone has something valuable to add, and it always nice to hear new perspectives on this journey. One of the things I did early in my quit (when I was going on vacation), which I think might help people during holiday celebrations, was to print out one of the more meaningful posts to me and keep it with me. When I was tempted to smoke I brought that baby out and read it. It worked, and strengthened my resolve. The other thing I did was ask a friend who was with me to help me guard my quit. Even tho she still smoked, she was very good at reminding me that I didn't really want to smoke when I was tempted. Hi Moni, glad you've finally decided to out yourself! You will find a lot of good support here and you'll also find it helpful to lend support as well. The holidays bring their share of challenges...many people have discovered that alcohol and quitting smoking don't mix too well, so you might watch out for that. Excessive eating doesn't help either, with our tendency to gain weight anyway early in our quits. Try to stay moderate, don't pressure yourself to do too much, and keep your quit!
