Day 6

18 years ago 0 10 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Day 6 is almost over and it's not bad at all. I have the most cravings in the morning but they don't last long. Everyone said food would taste so good but it's just the opposite for me. Nothing tastes the same. I was a diet coke fanatic and now don't care for it at all. A lot of things that I liked are just rolling in my mouth. The only thing that really tastes good to me are jelly bellies and I was never a lover of them before. LOL I wonder if it's because I'm using the patch?

Smoking destroys the tastebuds so they could be starting to bud back =) As for the diet coke, I do not care for artifical sweetner for it always leaves a weird taste in my mouth. Maybe this is the cause for you? Try eating a fresh pineapple!! OMG!! The sourness and the sweetness are actually seperated!! That was a total revelation for me the first time I had ever experienced!! Before I had quit, all of the food was BLAH! Thus I would over season our foods b/c I couldnt taste the seasons. But now, I can actually taste the seasonings =) *grin* I think you are going thru a growth spurt! LOL!! Congrats on your first week too!! =) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/21/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 143 Amount Saved: $28 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 10 Seconds: 3

Msparkyace, Congratulations! Hell week is almost over, start planning your reward. See this change as an opportunity to try new dishes and experience everything anew. Enjoy! Danielle _________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Msparkyace - Good for you! YOU are having one of the gentle, calmer and easier Quits - and it's good to hear that (I had the same!)... Stay in your own power, focus on what you need to do to take gentle care of yourself and just keep putting one foot in front of the other, dear one! You will so be able to support others, too, as there is a need for newbies to hear about Quitting from a calmer, less dramatic perspective... Enjoy your jelly bellies (smile)... I didn't use the patch, but others here can comment on it... You are doing beautifully, friend!!!
